Love it or hate it, fur has made a comeback and is prominent in the new collections from Anna Sui, Burberry, and Miu Miu. But with the wonderful selection of utterly strokable faux furs available you have to wonder why anyone would want to wear the real thing, especially if – as Kim Kardashian discovered – they are likely to be targeted by animal rights campaigners.
Draped over the rich and famous, and cherished by many for its opulence and warmth, fur always has been a style staple. But this winter, innovations in colour, texture and the ability to combine fur with a variety of fabrics have made it a beautiful fashion trend, appealing to women of all ages.
The high street is now full of coats in all shapes and styles and there are also faux fur gilets, hats, boots, scarves and bags. Fake fur used to be considered tacky. But today, it is pretty much identical in appearance and texture to the real thing – and much more humane so come on girls; it’s time to fake it.
We’re loving this collection of cosy faux furs from Miss Selfridge which come in a wide range of textures and shades.
