L.O.V. Cosmetics SpectacuLIGHT Gel Top Coat and LOVinity Long Lasting Nail Lacquers.
These budget polishes are among the best of the best. They have an innovative wide brush with a rounded tip – ensuring you can coat your nails in one stroke (although I found doing my practically non-existent baby toes difficult to do, flip the brush sideways of you have slim or smaller nails to combat this).
The product itself dries in record time, I didn’t even time myself, as by the time I had painted all ten nails they were completely dry and ready for a second coat. The pigmentation is very opaque and impressive from a budget brand like this.
The polish didn’t last the promised seven days on me, but to be honest, I have pretty flexible, flimsy and thin natural nails – so I was surprised it lasted four days when I normally only get a few hours out of regular polish with no chips.
If your nails are in good condition, you should get a full week out of them with no problem. The glossy topcoat is extremely high shine and again dries instantly when you finish painting all ten nails.
My favourite polish from L.O.V is shade 530 – which is a gentle French pink with no shimmer; it gives an instant manicured look! You can pick up L.O.V. polishes from pharmacies such as Adrian Dunne. RRP €7.95
Wet’N’Wild Megaglow Highlighter.
I can’t rave about this product enough. As a Makeup Artist, I own literally every high-end brand under the sun, but I reach for this every day over products that are six times the price of this one.
My personal favourite shade is ‘Precious Petals’ which has been dubbed ‘Becca’s little sister’ by fans of the product. It is widely considered a dupe for Becca Cosmetics ‘Opal’ highlighter. It is a dreamy champagne colour
It has a stunning, glowing finish that could easily be built up to a blinding highlight, without being too shimmery or accentuating lines or dry textured areas of skin.
All of Wet’N’Wild’s products are cruelty-free and are widely available in Penneys and Dunnes Stores Nationwide for €5.95
Max Factor Colour Elixir Honey Laquer
With the 90’s glossy lip making a comeback this summer, we are slowly edging away from matte liquid lipsticks that have dominated the beauty market for so long.
Max Factor’s new release the Colour Elixir Honey Laquer range, are a kind of a mixture of a lipstick, a gloss and a balm all in one. They are fully opaque meaning you only need one coat, glossy but also long lasting and moisturising. The packaging itself is beautiful and looks much more expensive than it is.
My favourite out of the range has got to be Honey Nude, which I wear with a darker toned lip liner like Whirl from MAC for the perfect 90’s glossy lip. These are incredibly affordable and comparable to high-end products, with only a very small amount needed. They are available in 8 shades from nude right up to a deep berry tone.
These are available in pharmacies Nationwide for €13.99.
Essence Liquid Ink
This liner is easily one of the best if not the best-known budget liquid eyeliner. It has the perfect precision applicator, disperses just the right amount of product and is waterproof.
I actually used this myself on my own wedding day – nothing else compares to the ease of application and finish. I can achieve the sharpest wing within seconds using this product.
Essence offer a huge range of liners from pencil and gel to felt tip if you are unsure of a liquid liner. Their budget range is available in pharmacies and most Penneys stores. It is seriously worth checking out if you are a bargain beauty buyer. This product retails at €3.10
L’Oreal True Match Foundation
I’ve saved the best for last with this product! This foundation sells out of Boots stores in record time whenever they are in stock. These are a dupe for the high-end expensive Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk – but with more coverage.
The foundation itself is a thin consistency with a delicate shimmer finish which will blur all imperfections and not cake on the skin. The coverage is medium-full, but you could mix it with moisturiser to give a sheer finish if you don’t like anything too opaque on your skin
It is available in 23 colours from Ivory Rose to Dark Coffee, with both warm and cool undertones on offer – there is something to suit everyone.Priced at €14.99 and available in Boots stores.
