Irish Blogger and business women Suzanne Jackson tied the knot last weekend to her long-term beau Dylan O’Connor in her local church in Skerries.
Style Verdict: Fashion Columnist Kerrie Sheedy
The 32-year-old blogger wowed the small crowd that had gathered outside St Patrick’s church exiting the luxurious silver Rolls Royce in a full-skirted gown, with a dramatic plunging sweetheart neckline, lace sleeves topped with a simple lace trimmed white veil and loose Hollywood waves.
Custom Designed by the sensational Californian designer Hayley Paige, and sourced from Donegal department store McElhinney’s ,the stunning princess style dress has caused a small amount of controversy amongst So Sue Me readers – leading to some division over not only choice of bridal gown but the amount of cleavage Suzanne had decided to show for the big day.
Whatever your opinion is on the amount of decclotage appropriate for such an event it didn’t take away from the beauty and elegance the bride exuded outside the church where she has been christened and confirmed.
The blogger and businesswoman has spoken previously about the importance of marrying at the St Patricks church writing on her blog that : “I personally think Skerries Church is one of the most beautiful churches in the country! It has the most stunning aisle, as well as the most picturesque space outside for wedding photos.”
Accompanying the blushing bride down the aisle where Suzanne’s three doting flower girls dressed in white with baby’s breath floral crowns and baskets of flowers. The five bridesmaids stunned in pale pink full skirted tulle gowns with lace bodices and V necklines.
Suzanne had sourced this dresses from Frock N Fabulous Boutique Dublin finding the perfect accompaniment to the classic A line silhouette her tulle layered dress created.
Joining them on the pink parade was the mother of the bride Susan Jackson who had also sourced her outfit at McElhinneys department store, the retailer later said that the mother of the bride wore a “bespoke soft dusky pink Fely Campo dress with matching gold baroque print jacket.” later adding that Susan’s hat was “designed and made by the amazing Millinery by Mairéad in Newry.”
After the bride and groom said there I do’s the wedding party travelled to the picturesque Powerscourt estate where the floral arch the bride and groom had used at the church was transported along with a trendy floral wall to the reception.
Suzanne’s second dress is being kept under wraps for now with rumours circulating that So Sue Me has signed an exclusive deal with VIP magazine.
Beauty Verdict: Lauren Malone – Beauty Editor
We all waited with baited breath for a glimpse of Suzanne Jackson’s photos of her opulent wedding. And I am not exaggerating when I say I was absolutely DYING to see what Sue would opt for when it came to one of the biggest days of her life.
Suzanne has been blogging and sharing her beauty tips and tricks since 2010, followed by the launch of her hugely successful beauty line SOSU in 2016, which has since banked her a cool €311, 553 (as reported by evoke.ie last year).
Her beauty empire is firmly established and is now sold on popular sites such as boohoo.com and prettylittlething.com, but what beauty products did the Beauty Guru use on her own big day?
The Makeup: Suzanne trusted Louise McDonnell owner of LMD Makeup from Northern Ireland with her stunning bridal makeup, and used a set of strip lashes from her newly released SOSU Wedding Collection (on top of her semi-permanent lashes previously applied for extra drama and volume).
Louise described the look as her ‘favourite, so timeless and elegant’. Suzanne has previously used the Makeup Artist when she hosted her extremely popular workshop in The Galgorm Resort and Spa, and has previously said she is very fussy when it comes to her personal makeup – and often does her own brows as she prefers the way she does them herself when having her makeup applied by someone else.
The p look itself was stunning, flawless and totally glamorous. Not that we expected anything less from the striking Skerries native.
The Hair: Suzanne is no stranger to trying new looks when it comes to her hair, we often see her at events sporting a tightly wound top knot, to sleek pony tails or a loose and romantic up-style.
She has rocked everything from shorter locks to glossy extensions, but her wedding hair was simply beautiful, and easily my favourite look on her to date.
The brunette beauty opted for 1940’s Hollywood style romantic waves, with a side swept parting, framing her petite face perfectly.
The hair genius behind this look was Joanne Kelly, who Suzanne described as ‘organised, sweet and friendly’ she added that for her hair trial that the stylist ‘absolutely nailed it’ and I couldn’t agree more.
Jane Walsh from Red Velvet looked after the bridesmaids, while Joanne looked after Suzanne and her Mum.
The Nails: Suzanne’s first ever Beauty launch was her range of nail polishes – with one polish even called ‘I Do’, one would expect the beauty blogger to use this polish.
‘For my wedding, I think I would like to have one of my own colours applied to my natural nails, but if I can’t, then I might go for very natural looking acrylics with my polish over them, well that’s what I have in my head now anyway.’
So what did Sue choose?
Suzanne opted to have gel nails applied by Gosia Ollek of Expressive Nails who she described as ‘The Best’, having previously said her own nails are very weak this was the obvious choice. The gel nails were applied with a deep French pink nail bed appearance and a very slim and elongated white tip.
One of Irelands most prominent influencers and business women with a successful blog and a range of cosmetic and beauty products Suzanne Jackson has indeed taken the fashion world by storm. No doubt her star will continue to rise…
