Shiseido Future Solution LX Range

I tried out this luxurious range from Shiseido after receiving a trial pack of mini products including, the Extra Rich Cleansing Foam, Concentrated Balancing Softener, Total Protective Cream, and Total Regenerating Cream. These products range from €49.05 right up to an eye-watering €295.00.

I had never used any Shiseido products before – and I instantly fell in LOVE with the products. They felt like silk being applied to my skin, instantly nourishing and enveloping it with a gentle sweet scent. I could genuinely feel the difference between using something as high end as this kit and my usual more affordable options.

That was, until the next morning when I woke up with tiny pin-prick white heads all over my skin. If this is your first time reading any of my articles, my skin type is oily/acne prone – and when I googled one of the first ingredients in the Extra Rich Cleansing Foam but the ingredient in question is Myristic Acid – and basically it is an ingredient to be avoided if you are an acne-prone gal like myself as it is extremely comedogenic!

This range is much more suitable to a mature or dry skin type that will lap up the luxurious oils infused into these beautiful products, and for the younger or more oily skinned ladies fear not! Shiseido are launching a BRAND NEW product range, designed to treat young skin and any problems that are associated with it.

This range is called Waso, and believe me when I was treated to seeing these products up close, they are stunning – in particular the packaging is what caught my eye. You can get your hands on these beauties from September.

Bioderma Sébium Range

Beauty News

After my mishap with applying products that were far too heavy for my skin, I was tasked with clearing up my little pustules that were dotted around my face, taunting and reminding me never to stray too far from what I can tolerate. I switched to using Bioderma Sébium H2O Purifying Cleansing Micelle Solution which is priced at a reasonable €11.

It’s basically a micellar water, I wasn’t particularly excited to use this product. I’ve used so many micellar waters before with disastrous results, they tend to leave a film of grease on my skin. But this Bioderma one is different,it whipped off my makeup in record time and with minimal product needed, and within 2 days of using this morning and evening my skin is actually almost clear! It works by unclogging pores, regulating sebum without stripping the skin or aggravating it.

This product will not be leaving my skincare collection ever again! 5 out of 5 a wonder product for teenage or acne prone skin, definitely worth spending the extra couple of euros rather than using the cheaper brands. Bioderma also have various other products within the Sebium range such as moisturising creams and face washes all at affordable prices.

Skin Accumax

Beauty News

I picked up these ‘flawless skin’ capsules from Harvey Nichols at the Environ counter at €52 for 60 tablets after a friends recommendation (she had seen Jennifer Rock – The Skin Nerd recommend them on Snapchat, and anything that woman says I believe!).

I am going on a cruise for my wedding anniversary and want to be able to go bare faced and not embarrassed of my skin by the pool and on trips to different countries. I spoke with the lady working on the counter about my concerns and she showed my photos of her own skin before and after using Skin Accumax and the results sold it to me immediately.

Her once inflamed and red skin that looked like it was more breakouts than normal skin had almost completely cleared with no redness or unevenness left behind, she explained to me that the ingredients in the products help to balance oestrogen which in turn should help to regulate my skin.

The packaging on these are extremely poor. At nearly €1 a capsule I honestly expected better than a flimsy plastic bag that the seal won’t close fully on. I ended up spilling them in my handbag, and found them roaming free at the bottom with my hairbrush!

I have been taking these for the same amount of time as I’ve been using the Bioderma products, and I am achieving great results. I was told it could be 3 months before I see a huge change to my skin from the capsules, so I will report back with my final thoughts in a couple of weeks!
