I tried out some incredible products this week and tried a luxury manicure at Callan & Co in Ballsbridge to tell you all about! Check out my favourite beauty finds here in this week’s ultimate beauty notebook.
Best New Skincare
For those of you who have acne-prone skin, what do you want more than a product that both provides you with flawless coverage and treats blemishes at the same time?
Look no further than Bioderma’s Sebíum Global Cover, the brands new 2-in-1 formula to treat and cover problem skin. The combination of long-wearing pigments, mattifying powders and zinc gluconate leaves the skin in a veil of 12-hour, matte coverage.
It also has a built-in green concealer to combat any redness, which glides over any breakouts without making them look cakey.
€15.66 at www.Feelunique.com and pharmacies nationwide.
Innovative Beauty Buy
I’m always on the look out for new products with unique qualities, and that’s exactly what fragrance expert Maison Francis Kurkdijan’s brand new Body Oil + Hair Mist is. The delicately fragranced formula veils the hair and skin with a blend of three powerful oils; Argan oil to revitalise, sweet almond oil to soften, and apricot kernel oil to boost radiance. There are three scents to choose from, and they retail at €59.00 from Harvey Nichols.
Offbeat Beauty Buy
Forget gel nails this summer and try the new Space Stories nail polish range from drugstore brand, Essence. These extremely affordable gems are designed with festival season in mind and come in seven different shades- either holographic, iridescent or metallic in texture. They’re completely on-trend with the current prism style. Available in pharmacies and Penneys nationwide for €2.50.
Best Haircare Product
As I am someone who suffers from thin hair, I’m always on the lookout for products that promote strength and hair growth. That’s exactly what hair expert Roseanno Ferretti’s brand new Vita range succeeds to do!
The Vita combo consists of a rejuvenating shampoo and a replenishing mask. The shampoo contains Camellia, ginseng and guarana to strengthen, boost radiance and stimulate the hair bulb oxygenation to minimise hair loss.
The mask’s formula contains hero ingredients shea butter, avocado, coconut oil and fatty acids from Churi tree seeds, which all work hard together to restore moisture in the inner shaft of the hair.
While the two go hand in hand, they are available to purchase separately with the shampoo retailing at €47.43 and the mask retailing at €70.00, available at www.selfridges.co.uk.
Salon Treatment of the Week:
I had so much fun visiting Callan & Co in Ballsbridge this week to have a truly pampering experience. The salon is relatively new having opened in May 2016, and it is run by makeup artist Paula Callan.
I was treated to the luxury manicure, one of their most popular treatments, and even still I can’t stop staring at my nails that were pampered up by the lovely nail expert Sarah. She made me feel so comfortable and at home and was full of knowledge about nail care.
The treatment consisted of a file and shape, buffing, soak, cuticle work, scrub, massage and polish, and the products used were by the famous worldwide brand, Essie. Not only was Sarah’s treatment itself brilliant, the salon itself is stunning.
The big, modern building is very like a Georgina house on the inside but with a modern twist, and the team are sure to make you feel welcome in it. The luxury manicure treatment is €40.00 and I would highly recommend it.
Best At-Home Beauty Treatment:
Are you prone to sunburned, dry, sore skin? Why not soothe it with organic brand Living Nature’s new Manuka Honey Magic Mask? The non-messy formula is designed to penetrate deep into the skin to replenish lost moisture in dry, burnt skin.
The mask is also 100% certified natural, so you know it’s good for you! Use once or twice a week for beautifully smooth skin. The mask is available at www.livingnature.com at €31.62.
