Yellow has been taking the fashion world by storm in 2017. Through all the wonderful creations displayed by designers back at fashion week last September, this cheery trend seemed to shine above them all. From canary to ochre to that La La Land Versace yellow that Emma Stone became renowned for this year, we have loved them all.

As the optimistic colour of the season, it’s no wonder design labels such as Versace, Simone Rocha and J.W. Anderson all featured buttercup, lemon and daffodil tones their collections.Designers aren’t the only ones loving this powerful colour, however. Celebs have been strikingly showcasing it on the runway and high street too.

Reese Witherspoon stunned the red carpet in a canary yellow gown Versace gown at the The 74th annual Golden Globes, while Melissa McCarthy stepped out at the ‘Ghostbusters’ premier in a lacey floral print yellow dress by Judy B. Swartz.

But above all, fashion designer and style Icon, Victoria Beckham was spotted supporting the trend on not just the one occasion. Strutting the streets in a yellow satin culotte jumpsuit paired with a yellow trench coat, she certainly caught our attention. Only the ultimate clothes hanger could carry this one off, after all.

Don’t feel the look would ‘suit you’? Think again, because it’s all about finding the right style and colour that will fit in with your everyday wardrobe. Follow the Hollywood look of lemon and neutrals to create what has to be the season’s most uplifting look.

As a redhead, I’ve never looked at the brighter shades especially yellow, as something I could ‘pull-off’ wearing. Surely I’m not the only one who shiningly avoids the more attention-grabbing colours? Well, I’m not anymore I tell you. When the queen of predictably wearing black everyday, Victoria Beckham flaunts herself in a full swinging yellow on yellow show-stopper, it’s time to step up.

This New Look off-the-shoulder is the perfect wardrobe add-on! Pair it with a high-rise white midi skirt and nude booties (see above). Think simple, but glam.

This Jacquard- weave skirt from H&M has more detail than my birth cert, and I just have to have it! A black or white blouse and strappy sandals will complete the look. Elegance personified.

For those more delicate summer days, a light Pennys maxi dress is ideal to accentuate your style.

Be your own sunshine in the perfect front tie yellow playsuit from New Look. Style with simple accessories, neutral sandals and a black jacket. Cuteness overload!!

Stylist Tips:
– Anyone can wear this trend as long as you adapt it to suit you! Pick the right styles and shades for you.

– For fear of looking like you’re a bitter fruit, tone the rest of the outfit down and style with neutral coloured accessories such as nudes and whites.

– Don’t be afraid to embrace your inner sunshine with the more vibrant out-there shades.
